About Discovery Child Care
Located in Downtown West, Discovery Child Care has proudly served Calgary since October 2006 as we provide child first-family centered care. Our approach to child care promotes the well-being, development, and early education for infants to preschoolers. Our programs are designed to cater to the unique needs of each age group, creating age-appropriate environments, and activities that stimulate cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development.
Our children's needs and developmental milestones are given top priority. This involves tailoring care, education, and activities to meet the individual needs and interests of each child. Our families are active partners in their child's care and education. Open and transparent communication is encouraged, and families are actively involved in decision-making processes related to their child's well-being.

Our Values
Discovery Child Care values early childhood education (infancy to six years old) as a critical period for a child's holistic development including; cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical growth. Our programs, classes, and lessons encompasses various formal and informal settings that provide opportunities for young children to learn and develop foundational skills.
Through play theory and education lead by our Child Development Educators we specialize in assisting children in their social-emotional and language development. Typically within three months parents and Discovery Child Care alike see a notable improvement in children's socialization, language acquisition, and language development.
Building Foundations, Inspiring Growth
Lead by qualified staff; Discovery Child Care incorporates child developmental theories, play theory, and educational components into our programs to help children acquire essential skills and knowledge. We engage age-appropriate lessons, activities, and playtime that foster cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development.
Infants
(12 - 18 months)
Our Little Stars caregivers specialize in working with infants. Our educators are highly trained in developmental milestones, safety requirements, nutrition and feeding, as well as parent communication.
Toddlers
(19 - 36 months)
Our well-structured toddler program focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Preschool
(3 - 6 Years)
Discovery's preschool curriculums are tailored to the developmental needs of 3 to 6-year-olds. Our curriculums often engage & promote language development, early literacy, numeracy, science exploration, & creative arts

Additional Services
Discovery offers subsidized childcare options in collaboration with the Government of Alberta. Inquire about our licensed facility-based childcare for infants, toddlers, & preschoolers, whether enrolled full-time or part-time.
